Expressive Literary Responses Each of these pieces was done in response to a selected short poem, story, or song. Each frame within a piece was designated to have stand-alone qualities, but also could be a component to a whole. Done with various techniques and in mediums including layered watercolor, ink, charcoal, and chalk.

Translations by Brian Friel 1980 An abstracted version of this Irish story, incorporating thematic elements of history, imperialism, and communication. I transformed the story into a futuristic depiction of Chinese imperialism. The Maids This play by French playwright, Jean Genet was written in 1947 and loosely based off the infamous Papin sisters, who murdered their employer in 1933.
